Description

The Sewing Squad is a sewing club for young people aged 7-13 years old.  Children will learn how to sew by hand and machine by working on a wide variety of projects.  The focus will be on upcycling and recycling fabrics and clothing, however there may be an additional charge for new materials from time to time as the children will help to decide what projects they would like to make.

In our current groups we have made things such as drawstring bags, needle booklets, hanging hearts, aprons (from upcycled shirts), brooches, table runners, as well as developing our hand-sewing skills by learning different embroidery stitches.  Each group helps to decide what they would like to make as their skills develop.
